Anyone of average or above average intelligence can be
hypnotized if they WANT to be hypnotized, and if their mind is not impaired by alcohol, drugs, or disease (at the time of
the Hypnosis). If you’re able to read and understand this sentence, you can be hypnotized – if you want to.
Q -- Can I be Hypnotized?
A
-- You've been Hypnotized before if You have ever:
Watched
a movie, TV show, sporting event, etc. and you got so involved in it that it seemed like things around you sort of faded away?
Was driving and got so involved in a daydream
or conversation with Yourself that You missed Your exit.
Read a book and it seemed to become so real to You that You felt like You were living it.
Ate while You watched television and kept eating even though You weren’t
hungry any more.
Saw a commercial that
said “ask your doctor about . . . . “ and You DID!
Noticed that music affected You – maybe calmed You down, caused You to “go back in time”
remembering someone You do (or did) love, felt cheered up, felt moved or inspired, felt more energetic.
Got so involved with something – work or play – that You lost track
of time.
Smelled something, maybe walking
by a restaurant, or a scent – like perfume / cologne - that reminded You of someone, and as mentioned before –
took You back in time. Maybe remembered Your Grandmother’s cooking, your Father’s cologne, etc.
Watched a scary or action movie and JUMPED when a monster / shark / explosion,
etc. happened on screen
Yawned when You
saw someone else yawn
And the big one –
ever had someone talk about a juicy, sour, yellow lemon, with the juice so sour that just talking about it, or maybe even
right now reading about it, caused your mouth to water?
Well, if You’ve ever experienced any of those things, or something similar, then YES, You CAN be Hypnotized,
but only if You want to.
No one can Hypnotize
You to do something You don’t want to do.
When clients half kidding ask me if I’m going to make them talk like Mickey Mouse or another character
when their phone rings, my response is:
“I
hadn’t planned on it, but if You want to, I charge extra for that. But wouldn’t it be better to focus on
what You came in to work on?”
Who
CAN’T be Hypnotized ?
A person of
extremely – and I mean extremely low intelligence – someone who can’t understand simple conversation.
A person whose Mind is impaired – at the time – by drugs, alcohol,
or disease (dementia for example).
Or a
person who does NOT want to be Hypnotized! But guess what – those people probably aren’t going to be paying
a Hypnotist NOT to Hypnotize them! Would they? Unless they want the satisfaction of telling someone – their
husband / wife, etc. – “See it didn’t work! I tried everything, but it just didn’t work.”
Some people will spend money to prove another person wrong. Amazing isn’t it?
